Construction Apprenticeship Programs Put Young Workers Ahead of the Game
By Lauren Pinch
The average college graduate enters the real world with no job, not much relevant work experience and a pile of debt. For high school graduates who don’t pursue a degree, the options in today’s economy can be even more limited. The construction industry offers an alternative. On the Fast Track
The Dilling Group is proud to announce that Lance Barton and Bobby Williams participated in the 2011 ABC Craft Olympics held April 2011 in Las Vegas Nevada.
Competitors in the National Craft Championships must be trainees or students. They must be enrolled in and soon to be completing a training program. The competition is composed of two parts – a written exam and a practical performance test.
The written exam counts for 25% of the total score with the practical performance test accounting for 75% of the total score.
The Practical Performance Test involved reading of blueprints, removal of refrigerant, evacuation and leak test of air conditioning equipment, installation of accessory equipment to air conditioning system and performing electrical troubleshooting techniques.
We’re pleased to announce that Bobby Williams earned 2nd place in the HVAC division.
As part of our ongoing commitment to have a skilled and well-trained workforce, the Dilling Group invests a great deal of time and effort in apprenticeship training. We believe in growing our talent and would like to congratulate both men for their hard work and participation in this difficult challenge.
